behind the scenes spoilers:
the original draft I had for season 3 was a bit longer, and featured more mamas papas (Kuroboshi was supposed to have Huke's role, for example), as well as a couple more retired vtubers in the ABYSS, such as Suzuhara Lulu and Otogibara Era (they were involved with/the reason why the nijifans were there). i still intend to do something with Lulu at some point. i also considered doing a VOCALOID team consisting of Miku/Rin/Ran/Luka, as i think of Vocaloids to be like proto-vtubers in a way. but they were cut for time/conciseness. the abyss arc originally was planned to have a lot more filler, but all of the lore coupled with burnout was a bit much to work through in a short timeframe. foolish of me to aim to do the whole season in one week, lol.
