The issue as I see it is that a lot of the posts and overall attention in the early days of the drama came not from actual fans, but from dramafags and shitposters, and they were left very unsatisfied by Doki's desire to just move on. You're right, it's extremely exhausting, which is why I stick to the 2-3 generals that I like, but I've found that talking about board events like divegrass and the VGTC can really help liven things up in a positive way.
