>>12180751A number of stories with shit writing have managed to be popular and they do get made fun of, but I feel like how much disdain and mocking Twilight series got was overboard. Like seriously even now, you can sometimes get people in youtube comments say "*insert weird pairing/relationshion* still a better love story than Twilight", as if somehow the concept of an eternally young being falling in love with a young human has never been done before and is gross.
I can only conclude that its because they doubted that female teens would turn out in droves for the movie, cause I remember back then when it was just a book series I could read it and say I enjoyed it as a guy without any eyebrows raised.
