>inb4 no Silent Hill is scaryNo fuck you, Silent Hill 1 is genuinely scary if you're not a zoomer who can't get past the primitive graphics. 1 (and to a lesser extent 3) has an utterly oppressive atmosphere as you slowly watch more and more of this previously normal town be swallowed up by evil with seemingly no way to stop it and everyone around you either dies or turns into a monster (except Kaufmann who decides to be a hero at the last second because he had a crisis of conscious after seeing what his actions caused). It doesn't matter if Otherworld is just a Jacob's Ladder reference, the game makes it work.
