>>70712641that's because homestuck was insanely slow and bad and was a completely scripted fake CYOA, but the format was extremely popular on 4chan (e.g. rubyquest). it just happened to be when his work really caught on with the kids and kinda ruined it for everyone. undertale was also a breakout hit mainly on 4chan when the demo came out, and the hate came later. problem sleuth and sweet bro/hella jeff don't have a lot of the same baggage unironically, so they were never dragged down.
