The "solitaire" commonly referred to with that name, is actually "klondike" (also known under other names, but klondike is the most used); other examples of "solitaires" are spider and freecell.
There are also regional solitaire games, which are less common because they are specific to a certain culture, etc.
Then you have variants created as mini-games for bigger games, which still count as solitaire.
