Shadow over Innsmouth, a book where a character slowly realizes their ancestry and that they're a monster, is derived from Lovecraft finding out that a good chunk of his ancestry were Celtic which didn't align with his view of WASPs being the only normal people. It isn't like actively malicious unlike most people's racism.
I'm a leftist and I don't hate Lovecraft or find his racism or opinions problematic because he was just a literal autist and his racism is cute and funny.
