Most bullets go directly towards your current position when they shoot you, which means that if you move around nonstop like a zoomer you are spreading out the bullets across the entire screen making it harder to dodge. Moving in short intervals keeps the bullets concentrated at 1 spot while letting you keep gaps to move through if you get into a tight spot
