While the royal family has the definitive upper hand over their opponents, the minor and major nobles of the pale nobility could and should be overthrown at any moment.(i compare them because out of the 4, they would be the ones to have actual nobility. Axelotls would have chiefs, yes, but that would amount to very little outside of their territory, and The Guild would just be commoner geeks that spend their entire day either in books or getting corrected. Not much room to do backroom deals and assassination plots from them, so we gotta get our fix elsewhere. )
