There is probably a way to use inpaint, or inpaint sketch to better "set" the character into the background. I've tried OpenPose to put a stick man into an already generated background, it does put a girl there but the initial background gets fried.

https://files.catbox.moe/q656p7.pngThough I think photoshopping is a good way, the Gura cocktail was a photoshop, and I img2img and blended her into the drink. The only issue I see is you'll need to have a stock of girls in various angle, poses, costumes to paint them into the scene. I'm still exploring this myself right now.
