They latch onto things purely based on popularity and then quickly drop them without a care for the context or original source or whatever. They think it's clever to steal memes and act like tiktok invented the word mogging because it makes older generations angry over their disregard for "the lore" of the internet.
So no, most younger gens don't actually go to 4chan they just like using 4chan lingo to upset old people.
