the story presents itself as though the characters are struggling to deal with their oh-so-severe problems which then resolve themselves with minimal effort. it's conflict resolution wish fulfillment where differences are unironically solved by someone going, "can't we all just get along?" and the only real saving grace is how much the female lead loves eating the male lead's baking and now i feel like a dumbass because i now understand that's actually what's appealing about it to you.
