When they were teaching us cursive in 3rd grade, my teacher just had me sit in the back of the room and told me to do my best because he didn't have anything for left-handed people.
It also only stays that way because most people stop developing their handwriting as a kid and view it like a trait instead of a skill. If you want to have better handwriting you just need to work at it.
