For me it's a few things I think I really love about it. I love seeing how people lived at different times, with different cultures, religions, knowledge, hardships and joys. I love seeing how much history rhymes, and how many great things have faded, but humanity has risen against it time and time again. I love learning about all the aspects, like architecture, diets, music, trade, war, etc. It's fun and is really good for setting writing, which is important for what I want to do with my friends =w= I love how sometimes history is stranger or funnier than fiction. It also makes you realize there's never a true end, not in your lifetime, and you can lead an amazing life if you want it and push for it, even if it's tiring.
