I have a 7900XTX and don't plan on upgrading that until AMD makes a card that outperforms it in a significant way, which is unlikely to happen until they (theoretically) go back to making flagship models. I think the 5800X3D would pair really nice with it for 1440p, it's not really like I'm suffering on the 5800X either.
