I was watching Kiaras stream and saw this superchat, made me think of Rushia. The whole mentality of these people who blindly give money to these vtubers is the problem.
This not healthy and I believe it is much more toxic than Idol Culture. All of these vtubers clearly are willing to accept as much money from their fans as possible. Which from a business or work point of view is understandable, however when you have the likes of Orca donating over $34000 of his money to Rushia surely there must be some guilt or empathy on the side of the streamer.
Personally I believe there should a limit on how much people are allowed to give or the Vtubers did not do GFE/ encourage these fans. As they clearly have mental health issues and feel that giving them money is the right thing to do.
The fans need to be protected just as much as the streamer, as thats how the overattachment forms or at least they would not be suffering financially.
Would be really interested in hearing the boards opinions on this, do you think Superchat/Donation culture is more toxic than Idol Culture, should these people who feel the need to donate receive help or is this indeed normal?
