What I've come to realize for progress is I likely need to focus on specific "skills" instead of just expecting them all to level up simultaneously. Once I practice one specific thing in isolation (ex. drawing hands, shading, perspective, proportioning) to a certain degree, I can apply them to general art pieces much faster and see faster progress.
