Basically metapost that it's s dream within a dream, or just one sequence of events in the dreamscape timeline, or have the character realize the world they live in is more like that dream they participated in but the world they knew was the actual dream. It needs a twist or a pull at something bigger for the cop-out not to be cheap, but to end up as part of the cooking
