>>47818377I think fear about AI replacing the arts is overblown. Maybe hentai artists and other creators that pander to the lowest common denominator will need to find another way to make a living. But fine art has always appealed to wannabe intellectuals, critics, people who like to ponder the artist's thoughts and feelings as they created a work. You just can't get that same experience with AI.
An artist like Vincent Van Gogh will always be more compelling than whatever Midjourney shits out because of the history behind him. Even with pop stars, a good chunk of their selling point is based around their background and how they rose to fame.
You know how people on this board gush about the "idol experience"? It's like that. A perfect AI idol is nowhere near as compelling as a flawed human girl trying her best.
AI is AI and humans are humans and I believe both can achieve success in their own right.
