>>42493997I just think Niji needs to carve out a space for male fans. That means making a few concessions for things that male fans want or need in a stream.
-- no male/female flirting please. Friendship is fine, collabs are fine, but flirting is not fine. That means Luca needs to be under control and not allowed to just run wild.
-- actually some girls-only collabs. From a male perspective these are legitimately so fun, but including male ruins everything. You can have male collabs, it's fine, but we also want some girls collabs.
-- stop the persistent witch hunt against "parasocial" fans and demonizing GFE. Come on, just let the men love their oshi for fucks sake. What is this nonsense. The guys don't do this to their female fans.
Basically the intergender stuff would be reduced, but of course not eliminated. It is Nijisanji after all. And hetshipping has to be approved by both parties, you can't just have someone like Millie throwing herself at every dick she sees on twitter.
I can't speculate about behind the scenes drama but I don't think the talents are getting the coaching and encouragement they need. Vox for example is a legitimately talented person but he suffered a big mental breakdown. That should be happening, he should be getting support. In general the talents need more support, Niji only finances their debut and doesn't advertise them after that point. It's not right, you need to advertise them and give them more boosts over time.
Another thing, the vtubers need to be encouraged to talk about their real lives less, and to get more into character. Elira Pendora is a dragon girl, not a person playing a dragon girl. She can obviously confide in chat about her real life, but don't make it so explicit. Like instead of attending "school" in the past, she should say "dragon academy". Even if nobody takes it seriously, I think it's important. It could even inspire fanart and stuff.
Also there needs to be a clear vision about which fans they're trying to reach, and a strategy for how to reach them. Many people speculated that XSoleil was going for a Kpop appeal. Ok, if that's the plan, how are you going to get those Kpop fans? You need a real plan for doing that, you have to know what Kpop fans like and how to appeal to them. Instead the vtubers debut, and then all wander off in their own directions.
Finally, the waves need to build identity. What does it mean to be "Lazulight", or "Ethyria". For that reason, there should be more competitions of wave-against-wave, and more mandatory wave-collabs. Also encourage people within the same wave to collab with each other more often than collabing outside their wave. Hex and Ver should be on a first name basis. Open up VC within a wave too, but only within a wave. Maybe because Lazulight and Obsydia are so small they can have their own open VC together.
