My advice for someone starting anew without any guidance would be to pick something like the Dragon Maid deck, which is really simple and then go look at combos on Youtube.
I also think trying to read your enemy's card when you're a new player can make things harder for you. Most of us don't really read everything, we just learn good choke points to interrupt meta decks instead.
