It's literally the result of a perfectly functional mind being trained in ways incompatible with society. Normally the training to fix this is very long and tedious and can only help so much, but when the floor of the definition is so low it opens up the genuine possibility to be completely cured of the minor nitpicks that classify someone as slightly autistic.
