Years ago back when I still played FFXIV and was in an FC that was active and growing the FC leader's wife bought into a stupid ass phishing attempt and all the fundraising that we had done to move into a mansion was gone in a fucking blink and Square couldn't do shit about it either. Now if people fall for basic phishing attempts in a videogame where the link was so blatantly fake, people will definitely fall for ones that are more convincing.
I was also going to post the whole debacle where some dude got scammed over discord like a monkey but his twitter account got suspended, which is unfortunate. It's l8ike you have old people who get caught, millennials who know better because they grew up with it, and then everyone after who are so terminally online but also know fucking nothing at the same time who get caught by this shit.
