I don't blame people for wanting to take some time off... we all process shit at a different scale and I'm sure everyone's gonna need to take time sooner or later to deal with the trauma they've had to endure over the last few months, and keep having to endure due to "fans" of certain people. It's insane how much people want to see something fail and to see people suffer out of some sense of holier-than-thou moral aggrandizement. I've really lost faith in people with all of this and cut some people out of my life for being toxic and unwilling to see the larger picture. I'm exhausted by the flattening of complex issues into X 100% GOOD, Y 100% BAD, because it's never so simple. It's very hard not to hate that person for engineering their success by cannibalizing the livelihood and well-being of everyone they once claimed to care about.
But all we can do is support the people we care about in the ways we're able until things improve and settle down. Sorry to retread old ground, but god sometimes it exhausts me to know that everything they do is being hyperanalyzed and viewed in the absolute worst possible light even when it's a literal nothingburger and when they can't even defend themselves lest their words be twisted into the most absurd take possible. I love /nenmen/ but every time I have to glance at the catalogue to move to the next thread I feel my soul dying a little bit. People suck. But you guys remind me that not everyone sucks, and I appreciate that more than words can say.
