>>52668721New gens increase the "company box" each agency has because they bring in new fans. It has little to no impact on existing talents though, at best they get a small bump in CCV and subs but the trickle down effect is almost no existent in Vtubing. New generation debuts, assuming they aren't spammed too much, are the best ad for any company but I can understand current Kawaii girls not being too thrilled about a new gen because they get almost no benefit from it directly and they risk another monumental fuck up. Don't expect gen1-2 to get much out of those debuts in terms of numbers, people following vtubers want to be there from the start if possible. A 1-2 year old channel filters by default, especially those coming in to check new girls.
At the same time I bet they understand that, unless Kawaii somehow manages to pioneer a new marketing strategy to sustain relevant and steady growth without new gens and massive investments, the tried and true method of debuts are the way forward and they still get something out of it in the long run as long as everything goes as it should. Unfortunately, this last part is historically an issue for Kawaii.
