>>20138577Because a weird mix of various things (timing, yuri fanservice, fanservice in general, universe even more devoid of males than average) drove LL's fanbase down a hole of complete insanity.
There's a certain level of gay + monogendered setting that makes people LOSE. THEIR. *SHIT*. when presented to them. You can't go too gay or lewd or people lose interest (anyone remember Valkyrie Drive? Vividred Operation? Sakura Trick? Exactly) because it's all there for way too cheap, but if you tease just enough you lay the foundations for something unimaginably rabid and borderline dangerous.

In a way it predicted a lot of the spicier takes on this board, such as a recent post that stated "90% of humanity is not normal" at the tail end of a protracted rant about male collabs.
>>20139026P-San and such help, but so does the wide range of ages and the implication that they don't really have time to fuck anyone, not even eachother*. Yuri is in a way a substracting factor. The other girl is seen as a place-holder, which makes gachi's schizophrenia act up really bad because it's considered being Single Plus(TM) rather than just single.

*(Aikatsu! uses a similar model, with most of the girls actually doing idol things such as hosting gameshows, practicing dances and turning into the star ontop of the tallest Christmas tree in new york, so relationships just don't really come up much, and the fanbase is far saner for it).
(Also helps that most of the characters have dads & brothers who're immensely supportive and cool, with one of them going so far as to crossdress in his sister's friend's honour).
