I been thinking about kayfabe for a bit now and maybe I should point out something:
THE HARDEST WAY TO STREAM IS TO STREAM AS YOURSELF
Most streamers do not start as characters, they become one. Something happens, it turns out to be funny. Then they do it again as a joke, then it turns into their reputation, then they build their entire persona around it.
>https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/FlanderizationS*nsaw* probably did not wanted to be known as an alcoholic from the get go. Rushia did not want the pentakko jokes to become her thing. Streamers let jokes overtake over their true selves because streamers are entertainers and entertainers exist to please. Being yourself as an entertainer is an uphill struggle: the events will conspire to turn you into a meme, and then new comers will arrive expecting said meme. Ask Beleb.
In the end it is easy to play a character because you will have an easier time ditching said character when fate and your fans work together to turn your life into a joke. Ask Pewds. Vtubing is a blessing.
If you actually decide to stream as yourself, and stay true to who you really are, expect a fight against the entire world. No one under the public eye gets to be "themselves"; ask every actor, every comedian, every politician, every entertainer that is and has ever been.
