>>81507530basically, every skill is assigned to an attribute, and either skill is either a major skill, a minor skill, or a miscellaneous skill. how much you can up an attribute at level up is dependent on how much you've leveled up that attribute's skills during that level, and you only progress in levels when you level a major/minor skill. so leveling up a miscellaneous skill will let you improve that skill's attribute more at level up while not actually contributing towards level up progress. if your major/minor skills are a perfect match for how you actually play, you will advance in level ups VERY rapidly, but those level ups will be very anemic, and your attribute growth will slow relative to your level, which can bite you in the ass later. likewise, if your major/minor skills are completely separate from how you actually play, you will advance in level ups VERY slowly, but your attribute growth will be MUCH quicker relative to your actual level. what matters the most for ami in terms of damage output/action efficacy is her skill level, which is why she's stopped struggling with her longsword and bow, since those are two of her highest skills. there's an ideal middle ground where you maximize a specific attribute by training that attribute's skills specifically. For instance, if Ami took 10 spear tranining lessons (a miscellaneous skill), she could maximize her endurance gain from a single level up without actually making any progress towards that level up. she'll want to do this eventually, since she does jack shit for endurance skills otherwise. level ups will only get harder to find the more she ups the major/minor skills she actually uses.
