>>91917804I know a lot of people want it for the purpose of separating talents they like out of corporations they don't like, and I don't agree with them for that, but I do think the practice should be normalized, because it's sad when someone you've spent significant amounts of time with/as is something that is intrinsic to the person and their fans. It also opens up avenues for collabing with the people still in the company and would allow for return collab event highlights. This should be handled case by case and delicately with distinctions. My main line of reasoning is at some point people might not want to do event stuff or work under rigid corporate structures and rules and just stream as a hobby that can still make them some money from people who like them rather than just as a job. They can go full indie and redebut, but model loss and years of build up from the person ends up lost as just a relic of the past, including various costumes. Main thing that gets lost is the streaming environment and ability to collab with some people... I know I don't watch Mint as much as I did Pomu, and I dont like Vshoujo girl interactions with Matara as much as I liked Nina with NijiEN. I'd want it as a kind of retirement out, like how Pewds isn't main-lining content creation but just posts videos or streams from time to time for fun. Also for if/when a company folds let's say, decades down the line, the person keeps the rights to the vtuber persona they built up. Also so we never see a Kizuna AI skinwalker moment again. I don't want it for the reasons antis would want it, but for the welfare of the livers down the line.
