Keep in mind the average cost of a catch all counterspell in MTG is 3, meaning creatures can be played before it and any turn a player doesn't spend mana to hold up a counter is a turn they weren't playing something on their turn. It can be played around by playing multiple creatures, baiting a counter with something less valuable, making them spend mana on their turn with instant speed creatures or spells of your own or hand disruption like this. I fully believe it makes for a healthier format though since it stops enters the battlefield effects cold and let's combo decks exist and be powerful while providing counterplsy. Speaking of /tcgia/ needs hand disruption.
