The fact is that since meat is more convenient for you to get your nutrients(and tastes good) so you don't care about their lives, so fuck them right? You're convenience is more important than animal lives.
How can any meat eater honestly care about animal abuse when their entire point is that "I could get all my protein and nutrient supplements from other sources but I'm lazy so I'll just simply eat meat instead."?
What right do you have to say the entertainment someone gets from smashing an animals head in for fun is any worse or different from you supporting and participating in the breeding/slaughtering/cooking/eating of dead animal for the sake of you're convenience and not necessity?
