men organize themselves into hierarchies nearly immediately. they can be flowing and highly adaptable, your friends probably shift default group leader based on whatever task you seek to accomplish based on whoever's skill set is most developed. forming thst association requires testing each other's skills. you need to want to be leader because it is the only way to make sure you are measured and the group actually maxes survival chances by geting the best man to lead the hunt. all problem solving is just anithet form of hunting, so we compete before we get in line. the problem is that the easiest way to assert dominance is to beat the shit out of each other or compete to the point of hurting ourselves. that is obviously retarded and as destructive as having a shitty leader. so how do you test while also making it clear that you are not a threat? you cut the tension. how do you cut the tension? you make a joke. we laugh while we organize ourselves and end up optimally configured without any grudges. if it isnt possible to laugh then we are enemies and kill each other.
