Maybe he prompts the question in a way to nudge Neuro's answers in a certain direction or jumps in with his own response during a moment where he has a funnier answer than where as Neuro would have come up with a more vague response. The pause could be him typing.
If Neuro was really as advanced as we all hope she is, the CIA/FBI would already have taken both her and Vedal into custody.
Or maybe Vedal IS a CIA agent. That would explain everything actually.
