If she thinks romance is cringe at first, you can progress your story about those walls slowly breaking down, or if it's part of that avenue you're talking about, take a different approach to romance. I get how you feel though. I only learned recently that Flare HATES bows. So, I adapted and planned out a cool solution that's more in line with her that will come later. It'll be pretty badass too.
