>>41608418I really wish they rebranded the English male group for EN so Vesper wouldnt feel like he is forced to sing. Actually, I wish they just straight up rebranded HoloProEN as a whole to be variety streamers like NijiJP and not """"""idols""""" when they're not even Japanese. I love Hololive and I do enjoy Holostars, but forcing western talents to be like them is just ridiculous. I think if HoloProEN was more like NijiJP (I know how some of you feel about Niji, bear with me), there would be more creativity and a just an overall higher product.
Think about it, Holo is built up heavily on this idea of unity and closeness. This makes sense for HoloJP because 100% of the talents live in Japan and like 90% of them live in the same fucking city. They have the same timezone so it's easier to organize things, easier to do 3D events since they live close to the office, and easier to bond and tell stories about offline meetings. However, EN is scattered across the world in Canada, the US, Australia, Europe, and Japan. People have different values, attitudes, timezones, and it makes things more difficult to organize and mesh well. If these people were pushed to do their own unique content, and just come together in small groups with like minded people, things would run more smoothly since people are doing what they want to do with people they want to work with. No need to worry about being forced to collab with someone because you just happened to be in the same group together and no need to take singing or dancing lessons if you don't like singing or dancing.
>Look how well that worked out for NijiEN they're garbageI genuinely believe this is due to poor scouting and a lack of rules/accountability from management. If you took the current talents from HoloProEN and let them do their own thing, independent of idol culture, you would have a product similar to NijiJP and NijiJP (at least pre-IPO) was known as the wacky vtubers who did fun and creative independent projects. That style, at least to me, would be more compatible with western individualism. Once again, not saying "idol culture bad," I love JP, but I think forcing them to be the same was a net negative for EN, even if it did spawn some good moments.
Tl;Dr HoloProEN should have been branded and marketed as variety streamers instead of idols
