Personally I think spacing out the campaign to a day-long session every twice or thrice a month is ideal for longform, if only to avoid burnout from the members. That is under the assumption that your fellow members can remember what happened during the last session, though. It helps that our DM typically gives us a lengthy recap the day before a session starts for the sake of recap.
