The truth is nobody knows who Zentreya actually is and, as such, Zen could be a male, female, a couple that switches playing her, an alien, three geckos in a trench coat, very early AI, and / or Vladimir Putin. Nobody fucking knows. The only thing that ever existed as a "voice reveal stream" ages ago which you can probably still find somewhere that has a female claiming to be Zen but also a guy on the same stream (this is what fuels the couple theory). There have been questions called that the girl on that stream was a lie but the evidence is pretty circumstantial and easily explained, especially with Zen's paranoia. I do not believe during that stream anybody operates the Zen VRChat model or any vtubing avatar, so it is possible the whole thing was bullshit and who the fuck knows.
So, pick whatever you want. Every fan of hers has had to decide this for themselves, and most don't really give a shit. Zen is Zen.
