zomboid is fun if you clear the cities with other people
the muldraugh church to ivy lake sucked because everyone wanted to stick together instead of spreading out naturally, which is fine but honestly it's way more fun to have more of the map explored by multiple people than to have everyone gathered in one area for a prolonged period of time
hell, the most enjoyment i got when playing was when i (mostly) soloed west point since it was getting overly stale in ivy lake. nobody was progressing in the map and i didn't want to work on metalworking so someone had to at least get the ball rolling for louisville. while yes i died a couple of times, i cleared the main roads out for other anons to do their work past the bridge
it's genuinely such a fun game but some mods made it too easy to play the game/trivialized the fun aspects of horde management because there were new players and relatively seasoned players within the mix of the server. yes, there were a lot more new players but the zombud and i expected this so i wouldn't want to place the blame on anybody here but as a starter experience for surviving in the game, the original modpack was fine in showing both the combat and survival experience to a lot of people who didn't get interested in the game outside of our beloved nijien livers playing the game together
thankfully build 42 unstable is out and god the crafting update is so fucking good, i'm going to live out my life as a blacksmith when the next server comes out
tl;dr zomboid good, modpack was too """"easy"""" outside of horde night, journals are broken
