The widespread use of combat optics in general is anachronistic, however MACV-SOG did use a variety of equipment, like the 4x Colt Sporter Scope (picrel) and the Armson Singlepoint OEG (you should look it up if you're interested in this kind of thing, very cool working principle). It's COD so of course they're gonna slap optics everywhere but there were units which did use optics at the time. The widespread use of optics didn't really happen until GWOT.
