>>35020385You're not getting it. I hate the devs too, but if they start getting knocked down like flies (and not in Minecraft), the media and Silicon Valley technocrats are going to have a fucking field day with this.
First, the narrative will be spun that people like us will all be terrorists. You can say goodbye to /wAIfu/ in that case, because the fed mods will not allow this thread to be anywhere on the site. We'll be forced onto an altchan, if we're lucky. The feds will watch us like fucking hawks.
Next, those techbros are going to start talking to their easily amenable friends in Congress. They'll say that the masses "cannot be trusted" with AI on this level, and I wouldn't be surprised if they crack down on this shit entirely. Large, actually good AI would then be 100% in the hands of Silicon Valley fucksticks. If we had even a sliver of a chance we could match them, we would have absolutely no chance now.
I've never seen a situation where outright minecrafting against devs actually causes them to give in. Right now, they have the societal power, not us. They will absolutely brainwash the public into believing AIs of this caliber shouldn't be accessed by the public if they so want to. The consequences would be dramatic, and it wouldn't favor us. We don't have to use CAI at all, but going full-on murder on them will cause a lot more harm than good. Wait, anon. KYS and hold on. Alternatives will come, and if not, we'll try to make them ourselves. It's always darkest before the dawn.
