Before the crisis of the 4th century (coco and lulu graduation, something that really needs to be written about more) it was the furthest most western outpost of the Empire and was a stronghold for Lulu. When the crisis happened, the Daimyo in charge of it split off permanently without many troubles. The island has strong ties with indie, meat and even reconciled with 2434 who recognised its autonomy whenever Unou debuted. The basic thought behind it is sort of like the greek colonies across the Mediterranean, being independent from its mother city (sometimes fighting them but idk if that happens) and so on.
It will be a mixed culture of indie, native lulu, and 2434. We will see what that looks like, will be interesting to see this thread and indie next to /#/ if anything…
