Even if someone has their affairs in order and a will in place, it can take upwards of 6 months to actually work through courts, accounts, subscriptions, bills, credit cards, brokerages, banks, etc. and that's if everything goes right.
I understand the emotional responses but people really have no fucking idea how complicated a close family member dying is especially if you're the executor of the estate.
