>>91831035Since we were talking about Touhou in a previous thread, I just wanted to mention that some people see similarities between Touhou and FlaVR.
Touhou was created by a single person who calls himself ZUN. He programmed the original games, and created everything himself, art, music, gameplay, story, etc.
Once the games grew in popularity many fans started creating fan art, and derivative works, so ZUN decided to make it "open", meaning that anybody is allowed to create content, as long as they stick to the original concept.
So when Pippa created FlaVR she kinda said the same thing, "you can do whatever you want with these creations". It's not exactly the same thing but that's why some people feel FlaVR is an "open" project just like Touhou is; it's something run "by the fans for the fans".
However, in Touhou's case, ZUN still develops the main line of games, and there's a lot of fan made content surrounding it, including fan made games, art, and merchandise. Meanwhile with FlaVR, Pippa doesn't do anything, she just created the original thing but fans do everything else.
