It seems to me like neither of the EN Branches bothered (let alone made any effort) to establish any sort of proper cordial relations with one another, the same way the other branches have, even when talents on both sides started following/interacting with one another.
That's the only logical explanation I can think of that makes any real sense.
Tl;dr - Both sides are at fault and it's down to sheer incompetence, pettiness, tribalfaggotry, and overall general stupidity.
