So Kizuna was created by some insightful otakus, who were then immediately shit canned once the gray hairs smelled money. The geriatrics then proceeded to do their best to milk as much value out of Kizuna without understanding her appeal at all. As a result Kizuna would plummet in value, then, once the gray hairs hired someone who knew what they were doing, would skyrocket again, only to once again be cannibalized by the casket fillers.
That's how we ended up here. Everyone is super excited by the prospect of 'Classic Kizuna Ai' but the owners of the IP don't know what 'Classic Kizuna Ai' is or how to make it and just keep trying to see what sticks instead (While also cashing in as much good will as possible because they don't see any long term profitability)
