Being seen in person is also vastly more social than interacting online. To be seen is actually social, it's vulnerability, engagement, judgement and all the other things that you can only reach in person. It involves bringing (You) into the equation, while online you can escape that completely. An online handle is nowhere near the same as interacting face to face, just like interacting anonymously does not match interacting with an online handle.
