Fangame progress today: barely any. Only thing I got is figuring out how to mix exterior walls with the interior walls on the same grid map. If I can plan out all the major wall types I'll need, then I can really accelerate house building (and I'll need dozens).
For some reason half the things broke between this morning and when I got home, and I don't know why (and then it started randomly working again after I re-imported the blender file five times). I think the custom shader to force normals on the lightmap UV (UV2) might be dead in the water, because I think there might be some backend going on I can't identify. Plus, the visual shader lacks, for some ungodly reason, options the standard material has, and there's no convenient way to stack them.
It's not a huge loss, since the normals on a flat palette kind of look like slapping Steve Buscemi eyes on Ina, herself. Can't say I didn't give it an honest shot, but it wasn't worth the effort.
As a mental note: I'll aim to do some coding tomorrow morning before this part of the game gives me an aneurism.
