Sometimes I find it fun to think about alternate timelines when it comes to this thread. What if /pippa/ had actually been a thing aft the IBS arc? What if /clg/ stated together like /tsunx/? What if /pchex/ persisted?
I think a little bit of the purity has been lost in this current timeline, but it could have been a lot worse.
