>>7004261To give credit where it's due, /mlp/ was both WAY more obnoxious than vtubing ever has been, and the height of its craze occurred at a time before normie / woke shit was in vogue and sought to infect every aspect of everyone's lives. Add to that the vtuber community has a very hardy, very dedicated cultural protectionist mentality that does its best to fight off unwanted influence from any bad actors (see: the charity groups that were involved in a recent con that HololiveEN was only slightly connected to).
TL;DR- vtubers don't care about growth, numbers, or being accepted. They seek to preserve their corner of the entertainment industry, and have it remain as unpolluted and pure as possible.
