The one aspect I hated about Boruto was that they made Naruto out to be a neglectful father for the SOLE purpose of forced drama. This is the kid who dreamed of being greeted by loving parents when he gets back home and they made him into an absent father because "muh Hokage duties". And it makes even LESS sense since they've established that he can just shadow clone said duties. Reminder, the entire point of conflict between Naruto and his son was that he sent a shadow clone to his son's birthday instead of himself. It would've made more sense if he was an extremely doting father who was always there for every occasion but because of this and his position as the ultra popular Hokage, he kept stealing the attention away from Boruto's own achievements, thus creating this more understandable conflict.
